Reel Words: ICE is running FREE hip-hop music and digital storytelling workshops for young men (14-26) from Pacific and Aboriginal backgrounds. They will learn how to make beats, write lyrics, record songs and create their own digital story from established Australian hip-hop artists and filmmakers.
The course runs every Tuesday at Switch from 9 August to November 29 with a showcase soon to follow in November/December. The young men performed one of their tracks at Nu Warrior at Casula Powerhouse and have been working on their music video right up til the last workshop.
Upon completing workshops participants will receive a copy of the song and digital story they create, a Statement of Attainment IT, and assistance in employment and education pathways.
